Doodles & curly coats

Doodle and curly-coat grooming in Chandler, Arizona

Doodles, poodles and other dogs with curly or dense coats are priced by their coat and weight, never by breed. Here’s what a curly-coat full groom includes, its starting prices, and what to tell us when you book.

Coat, not breed

There is no extra doodle fee.

Your dog’s coat decides which price column applies. Many doodle coats are curly or dense and use the curly/dense column. Some aren’t, and then the column that matches the coat applies. We confirm when we see your dog.

Curly and dense coats have their own column because they usually take more time to work through. There is no separate breed surcharge.

Curly/dense full groom starting prices

For a maintained coat, meaning one that brushes through without heavy tangles or mats. We confirm the service and price with you at drop-off.

Over 20 through 40 lb $125
Over 40 through 60 lb $145
Over 60 through 80 lb $160
Over 80 lb Quoted individually

Other curly-coat visits

Bath & tidy for a curly or dense coat is quoted individually.

Dogs over 80 lb: every service is quoted individually after we learn about your dog. We’ll let you know whether it’s a good fit.

Every dog price, including the routine, smooth and double-coat columns, is on the dog grooming price table.

Full groom

What a curly-coat full groom includes

An all-over pet haircut agreed with you at drop-off, paw and foot finishing, and a sanitary trim as appropriate, plus everything included in every dog grooming package.

Included in every dog grooming package

  • Shampoo and conditioner suited to your dog’s coat
  • Drying
  • Routine brushing for a maintained coat
  • Gentle cleaning of the outer ear
  • Nail trim, with grinding when it suits your dog and your dog tolerates it

Never charged on top. We complete each step as far as it can be done safely for your dog.

Maintained coats, matting and extra work

Starting prices cover a maintained coat, one that brushes through without heavy tangles or mats. Your price may be higher if your dog needs extra coat preparation or matting removal, extensive hand scissoring or a detailed requested style.

If something comes up during the appointment: if Ally finds work that would go beyond your agreed price, she will ask you first. She will explain the extra time and cost and give you a maximum. Approved additional work is $20 per additional 15 minutes. We never charge twice for the same work. We never charge for ordinary delays on our side. If we can’t reach you, we won’t go beyond the agreed service or price. We’ll finish what we safely can within it and talk through options with you at pickup.

Severe matting: brushing out severe matting can be uncomfortable or unsafe for a dog. In that case, we may recommend a shorter trim, stop the groom, or suggest another option.

When you book

Tell us about the coat. Mention any known matting or a detailed style you’d like, and we’ll agree the price for that work with you before grooming begins.

At drop-off, you and Ally check the coat and style together and agree the service and price before work starts.

The time we reserve depends on your dog’s breed type and the service you choose. Ally confirms your expected pickup time when you drop off.
